AIDSPolicyLaw The website of the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network hosts an online discussion list: "AIDSPolicyLaw". The purpose of the list is to facilitate the exchange of information on legal, ethical and policy issues related to HIV/AIDS.

Alliance for Microbicide Development The alliance is a consortium of representatives from 40 biopharmaceutical companies, 39 nonprofit research institutions, and 38 advocacy groups, all dedicated to the development of topical microbicides for the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.

Asian Harm Reduction Network (AHRN) AHRN is a global information and support network linking and supporting programs working in Asia to stop HIV among injecting drug users.

AIDS Map Interactive site of the National AIDS Manual (UK) with a focus on treatments but also including a section on international resources. It also includes AIDS Organisations Worldwide Online, a particularly useful resource for finding HIV/AIDS organisations worldwide.

HIVandHepatitis.com An online publication that provides news and information about treatment for HIV/AIDS, chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis C, and co-infection with HIV/HCV and HIV/HBV. The site publishes articles, conference reports and has a question and answer section for site users.

HIV InSite Gateway to HIV and AIDS Knowledge A premier global Internet resource on HIV/AIDS, incorporating comprehensive, multidisciplinary information on basic science, treatment, prevention, and policy.

HIV InSite Country and Regions Pages A source of regularly updated international HIV/AIDS information, including global and regional HIV/AIDS overviews, as well as 194 individual country pages and a database of epidemiological and socioeconomic data.

IAVIReport.org IAVI Report Online is a centralized source of information on all aspects of AIDS vaccine research and associated scientific disciplines—from basic science like molecular virology and immunology to more applied fields such as HIV prevention research.

Asia Pacific Regional Links

Australian International Health Institute (AIHI) aims to increase the capacity of health workers and planners across the Asia-Pacific region to respond to the health needs of their populations through education, research, leadership development and health specialist services.

hivpolicy.org The online database of HIV/AIDS policies for the Asia Pacific for use by policy-makers, practitioners, fieldworkes, researchers and students.

The Coalition of Asia Pacific regional networks on HIV/AIDS, also called the "Seven Sisters" is composed of the regional networks for NGOs and CBOs (APCASO), sex worker organisations (APNSW), harm reduction (AHRN), PLWHA (APN+), mobility and miogration (CARAM), LGBT (APN Rainbow), and the AIDS Society of Asia Pacific. AFAO is the Australia / New Zealand representative on the Board of APCASO and some of our member organisations have storng links with these organisations (Scarlet Alliance with APCASO, NAPWA with APN+).

AIDSchannel.org is a partnership of over 100 aid agencies, human rights and campaign groups aiming to promote understanding, knowledge sharing and action on AIDS as a development, social, economic and human rights issues.

Global Campaign for Microbicides The Global Campaign for Microbicides is a broad-based, international effort to build support among policymakers, opinion leaders, and the general public for increased investment into microbicides and other user-controlled prevention methods.The website has fact-sheets, an online petition, an advocates corner discussion area, and more.

Health & Development Networks (HDN) manages and moderates a range of electronic discussion forums and provides communication support to conferences. The mission of HDN is to mobilise a more effective response to HIV/AIDS and other health-and-development-related issues by improving information, communication and the quality of debate.  

The International HIV/AIDS Alliance The International HIV/AIDS Alliance is a development organisation specialised in supporting communities in developing countries to play a full and effective role in the global response to AIDS. Their website has many useful resources and publications.

The HIV/AIDS NGO/CBO Support Toolkit is a website and CD-Rom with over 500 downloadable resources and supporting information. It includes practical information, tools and example documents to help those working to establish or improve NGO/CBO support programmes.

PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine, provides access to over 11 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. Treatment Action Campaign Based in South Africa, TAC is a driving force behind the current international campaign to increase access to HIV drugs and essential medicines for people living with HIV/AIDS. AFAO supported them for a period of time in 2001 for their MTCT campaign. This group is sassy, smart and committed.
